This Is How You Say Good Bye

I don't know how to write this post.

I've been praciticing it in my head for two weeks now because I knew it was coming. I gave my two weeks notice but I was in denial. I thought I could still blog for you. I can't. Given my recent poll and what you would like to see from SOS, however, I think this is for the best. I've taken the SOS as far as I can, now it's time for it to move on without me. So I have to say good bye.

I didn't know I was going to get so emotional about this. My nose gets red and my face gets splotchy when I cry, so it's something I avoid doing in public at all cost. I nearly gave myself a migraine holding in the tears the first time I saw Titantic (come on, admit it. You cried, too.). So the fact that my eyesight is a little blurry right now should be an indication of how hard this is for me and how much you mean to me.

I've really really enjoyed being the President of the Stroller Obsessed Support Group. It's introduced me to so many wonderful people and babies and strollers. I loved writing for you and to you, and I loved learning more about you and your families and your lives. It's been a real honor.

Until now I've kept my personal life and my professional life separate, however, I do have a personal blog and twitter account. If you're interested in getting to know the rest of me, you can at my blog The Charmed Bracelet. Be forewarned: I don't run giveaways and I don't talk about strollers (not on a regular basis, anyway). I know. Soooo lame. But I do talk about writing. One thing I write is children's books. So in parting, here's an illustration that my twin sis did for our as yet unpublished book Howie the Goose.

Yummy Smoothy Recipe

This recipe was *cribbed* from Postcards from the Bump: A Chick's Guide to Getting to Know the Baby in Your Belly. There are several great smoothie recipes...some of them more summer appropriate that the one I picked BUT I am totally and completely obsessed with all things pumpkin and so when I saw this clever pumpkin smoothie recipe I knew I had to share it with you:

Little Pumpkin Smoothie

1 C vanilla soy milk
1 medium banana, sliced
1/4 canned pumpkin
1 dash cinnamon
2 T maple sugar
4 ice cubes

Blend all ingredients in blender until smooth. Sit back and enjoy! Yum!!

The wonderful Mother Goose asked me many months ago to guest blog and write about some of my experiences being a new mom. As a proud member of the SOS, I was thrilled with the opportunity. My darling little girl (nicknamed Petunia Piglet) turned eight months old this Sunday and I decided it was high time to get my act together and come through on my promise to write a post.

And where better to start my introduction to the wonderful Stroller Patroller followers than with talking about my very favorite stroller? Although we have and have borrowed a number of strollers, my absolute favorite (and the one that is used the most) is the BOB Revolution jogging stroller. It is the be-all and end-all stroller for me.

My husband and I got it a couple months before the baby came and I was so infatuated and dying to use it that I *seriously* considered putting a small dog or stuffed animal in it to walk around the neighborhood! Alas, I came back to my senses and did not leave the house...

But once Petunia arrived, it only took about 3 days for us to load her into her car seat and take the BOB for a walk around the neighborhood using the car seat attachment. She was born in October so even through the winter, I would bundle her up in her car seat daily and attach it onto the stroller for walks and eventually, runs.

I found that one of the hard parts of becoming a new mom was feeling cut-off from my old life. The BOB let me easily get out of the house to not only see friends and do things, but just get some fresh air. It's amazing what a little bit of exercise and a shower can do for a sleep-deprived new mom (especially on the days when it feels insurmountable to even get out of bed). In the beginning, Petunia used to always fall asleep in the stroller which would get my the much-coveted shower as soon as we got back.

Eight months after first using the stroller, I still love it. Petunia is big enough to not be in an infant car seat anymore and loves looking around while I run with her. The large sun shade offers ample protection, the seat recline is easy to adjust, the stroller folds quite compactly for a jogging stroller(fits in the trunk of my sedan), and it is simple to adjust the front wheel to either be locked in place for rough terrain or swivel for pavement and in-town adventures. We also have the rain cover. It's a snap to put on--a great feature for drizzly mornings when I'm still desperate for a run but don't want to worry about Petunia getting wet.

Although there are so many strollers I still lust after for their great looks, the BOB really does do pretty much everything for me. And as my husband and I are both graduates of Virginia Tech, we love its bright orange color!

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to attend BEA. It's a gigantic book expo where you can meet authors and even pick up some free books.

One book in particular caught my eye and I knew it would be perfect for all of you. It's called Postcards from the Bump: A Chick's Guide to Getting to Know the Baby in Your Belly by Ame Mahler Beanland and Emily Miles Terry. You can learn more about the book and the authors on their Web site It's a Chick Thing.
Postcards from the Bump is a joyful book about pregnancy. What sets it apart from other pregnancy books is that it encourages expectant mothers to get to know their baby before giving birth just by paying attention to their bump!

There are lots of tips, recipes, sweet stories, and fun facts. For example, did you know that your baby can taste what you're eating while you're pregnant? This would be a wonderful gift for any expectant mom, but especially for nervous firsttimers who might need some help enjoying the process.

The book has been featured on Good Morning America Health and you can watch the clip here. You can also watch a very sweet, very homemade book trailer.

I'm very happy to report that Phil & Ted's Strollers are now available at Strollers.com!

Phil & Ted's are best known for the optional Double Kit that lets you attach a toddler seat to your single stroller. They're a great option for parents with two little ones or for parents who like the plan ahead and know that they're going to need a double stroller eventually. My current crush is the Vibe Stroller (shown) because it's oh so sexy with its black and red design. Plus, it can fold up with the double seat attached!!

Yes, it really can. You can see it fold up frame by frame here (select "fold" in the right margin). I emit a gleeful giggle every time I watch this.

Welcome! You may have noticed that our little group has accepted a lot of new members (aka followers) in the last month. I'm sure a couple fabulous stroller giveaways had nothing at all to do with that.

Regardless of how you got here (giveaways, therapy, family intervention, etc.), I would very much like all of you to stay. The first step is admitting you have a stroller problem and the second step is spending lots of time talking about, drooling over and, yes, shopping for totally fabulous strollers!

What I want to know is this: how can I serve you better? Obviously we all love giveways and I would love to give out a stroller a day if I could (something to work towards, perhaps). But what I really want to know is what else the SOS can do for you. If you have a second, please let me know in the little poll at the top right of my blog. It'll be up for a week.

I'm Such a Liar

I totally did watch Hawthorne tonight! (Until my twin sister called, anyway. Family first.)

So yes, I'm apparently I total liar.

I liked it. I didn't see much blood and guts, which for me is a good thing. And of course Jada is SO likeable. It's actually sort of ridiculous. I just got sucked in somehow, sort of like the way I end up watching whatever Will Smith movie is on TV.

Now, just imagine the two of them together. It must be charisma of epic proportions. Anyway, anyone else catch the premier? Or, you know, the end of it?

FYI, I promise I will be blogging about strollers again soon for those of you who were beginning to worry. There was a baby in the episode at least. That's gotta count for something.

Random Ramblings: Jada Pinkett Smith etc

I had a lot of random ramblings knocking around in my head last night but I was too lazy to get up and write it down so I'm going to do it now, instead.

First of all, I was wondering if any one else was excited about Jada Pinkett Smith's new show Hawthorne. Apparently it premiers tonight, which makes me look like I'm way more up on this stuff than I actually am. I mean, I'm not actually planning to watch it. I'm not into medical shows. I didn't even play doctor as a child and when I had mono I refused to go to the hospital to get an IV even though my pee was essentially the color of blood.

Was that TMI? Sorry, it sounded perfectly fine in my head at midnight. Suffice to say I don't like hospitals and avoid shows about them, even when all the doctors mostly just use the hospital as a place to hook up.

Anyway, I'm riveted by those ads for this show because *insert relatively tame expletive here* the woman looks good. Yes, she usually looks great on the red carpet, but it's so satisfying to see her starring in her own show. She looks just as good, if not better in those ads as she does when she's "the wife of Will Smith."

It's the same way I feel when I see ads for The Closer with Kyra Sedgewick. I'll even give them a free pass for those ridiculously photoshopped ads of her in the caution tape. That woman does not need photoshop in any way, shape, or form, TNT. Remember that.

By the way, I don't actually watch that show either--I don't like police procedurals. They keep me up at night worrying about what bad things might happen to the people I love (think about it: at least one person dies at the beginning of every single episode of those shows--and there's a show for essentially every major US city. That is a lot of dead people. And yes I do realize that that makes no sense whatsoever.)

What I'm getting at is it's nice to see grown women, who put their careers on hold for their families, finally get their time to shine. The fact that they're also playing strong, complicated roles is, for me, icing on the cake.

Spotted: The Puppy Pram

While you're waiting for me to announce the *winner of the Combi Cosmo Travel System Giveaway* I thought I'd share this with you.

On Friday at the train station I spotted this lovely pram. I did a double take when I realized that instead of carrying an equally lovely baby, it was carrying two fluffy dogs!!

Of course I immediately went over to the woman and asked to take a picture. I couldn't just describe this to you all without letting you experience it with me. So feast your eyes on the puppy pram...
You should know that this woman was getting loads of compliments on her precious precious pups and her pram.

So for all of you that drool just at the word "pram" but know in your heart that you will never ever be able to afford one, know that somewhere two fluffy dogs are drooling all over their very own pram right at this very moment.

On the flip side, perhaps you could use this to your advantage. The next time you're trying to justify the price of a pram to yourself or your partner, you can say, "Plus it's great for dogs once the baby gets older."

I'm just trying to throw you a bone here, people. Wink!

Bugaboo Bee Recall

Hi everyone. I don't normally post this late, but I was just reading one of my favorite blogs Daddy Types and learned that Bugaboo is issuing a recall for the Bee.

Apparently one or both sides of the brakes can fail, which can cause the stroller to roll away on an incline. So far, no injuries have been reported. I don't think this warrants total panic, but it's important for Bee owners to be aware of this problem and to get their Bugaboo-issued repair kit as soon as possible in order to avoid any possible problems.

According to the CPSC: "Consumers should stop using the strollers immediately and contact Bugaboo to receive a free repair kit. To order the bracket kit, go to www.bugaboo.com and fill in the special order form or contact Bugaboo customer service."

Random Rant: Moms Should be Models

Dear Stroller Manufacturers,

You mean the world to me, you really do. My addiction would be impossible without you. So I hope you understand that this is coming straight from my heart when I say:

What is wrong with your photographer?!?!?! Or art director or whoever it is that's in charge of your photo shoots?

I am SO SICK of looking at pictures of real strollers, holding real babies being pushed by....barely legal, six foot tall, perfectly coifed, 100 pound models!!

I understand that you're appealing to our fantasies. That's why your photoshoots also tend to look like they were taken at some villa in Italy. Because deep down all of us (apparently) wish we were barely legal, six foot tall, perfectly coifed, 100 pound models living in Italy with our smiling babies and our tall, dark, handsome husbands. At the very least I don't think many of us would complain if that were the case.

But you know what? We don't. And it's getting ridiculous. Some of these models are gingerly holding the babies or smiling down at them as if they've never even SEEN a baby before let alone a cheeseburger. And maybe they haven't.

Obviously you had to hire some sweet baby to model your stroller. Next time how about you hire that baby's REAL mom for your photoshoot. You probably had to fly her to Italy with you anyway so why not give her a blow out and a manicure for free? West Side Stroller Story

During lunch I was surprised to see a small pack of BOB strollers in the mall. Normally I only see packs of Bugaboos. But maybe I shouldn't be so surprised. My sister tells me that Portsmouth, NH is teeming with BOBs and I've noticed a bunch of them in my neighborhood as well.

So now I'm envisioning a whole West Side Story Sharks vs Jets showdown in the mall where all the Bugaboo moms and the BOB moms perform a choreographed dance with their strollers.
I mean, for all we know, Bugaboo is already rehearsing their moves considering that they made this gem that never fails to brighten my day.

Now just imagine that as some sort of epic stroller dance off.

Pretty awesome, right? Yeah, I thought so.

You don't know me and I don't know you, but I spotted you in the Prudential Mall with two kids in tow and a toddler in a stroller. Perhaps you noticed me, too. I was the one in the pink coat with the pained expression.

Let me explain.

First, I admire you for braving the chaos of Boston on Patriot's Day in order to take the kids to see the Boston Marathon. I'm sure they had a lot of fun. But I'm also pretty sure you're going to have lifelong back problems from pushing that dinky, seriously-was-that-a-toy-stroller-because-it-was-really-really-small umbrella stroller around all day.

Make no mistake: you were doubled over at the waist! It's a sad day indeed when a tall man is pushed to the limits of his pain threshold for being a good dad. The look on my face was meant to convey the sympathy pain I was experiencing on your behalf.

Mr. Dad, I realize that these are tough times. But maybe you could just invest in a nice Maclaren. The super compact, lightweight Volo is only $130. Or for $280 you could get get a Techno XT, which--I might add--comes with adjustable handlebars. You could use that as your primary stroller amd never need to waste another penny on some cheap umbrella stroller that looks like if you hit a Boston cobblestone the entire frame could collapse right there on Newbury Street.

Think about it, please. It could save you hundreds in chiropractor bills and your toddler will thank you.

Hello, faithful readers and stroller lovers. Yes, I have been a very bad blogger lately and have neglected you to no end. But it really has all been due to this flare up of my tendonitis (which, it seems, I can't stop talking about, since it's so glamorous and tragic and all) and not because my love for you or for strollers has gone astray.

To prove it, I am currently in the midst of trying to make it up to you with some very very *VERY* exciting giveaways!! You are going to be blown away by what's coming--at least I think you will be, anyway. So sit tight and know that Mother Goose is planning something special for you!

In the meantime, I just want to say, "Unfair world!" As I spent several self obsessed hours digging through my baby photos in search of a shot of my twin and I in our double stroller. Quest for the Golden Chassis Part III

I feel a strange sense of calm right now, as though all is right in the world. At last my holy quest for the golden chassis is at an end.

It started many moons ago, before Christmas. At the time I mused that perhaps it had been an EmmalJunga stroller.

Then after a helpful suggestion from a reader, I thought perhaps it was a Mutsy, which did have some goldish colors (albeit not available in the US).

But guess what? And really, let's not even try to hide the fact that i am just bursting with pride because when I stopped to ask this lucky lucky mom what type of stroller she had, she.....said....

"It's an Emmaljunga."

So at last, the mystery is solved. And best of all I can prove to you the existence of the golden chassis because this mom not only spent several minutes telling me why she loved Emmaljunga (apparently it's very common in Sweden) she also tidied up the stroller and then let me take a picture!

In case you are wondering, the very special baby that gets to ride in this stroller was also super cute and wearing an adorable stripes onesie but I didn't want to totally frighten this nice woman by taking a picture not only of her stroller but also her baby, so you will have to envision the baby yourself using your imagination.

People, the best thing just happened to me at lunch! I walked right past the gold chassis--yes, THE gold chassis--that I spotted before Christmas. Stroller Spotting: A 2009 Bumbleride Indie Twin Stroller!

Yesterday while my husband and I were driving up to Portsmouth, NH to see my twin sis and his brother (yes, they are married), I nearly made my husband drive off the road when I gasped. The reason for the outburst was the cheerful Spice Orange and turquoise of a 2009 Bumbleride Indie Twin Stroller.

This is a seriously striking stroller in person. The design looks modern and fun, especially thanks to the unique color palate. Bumbleride claims you can 'glide through doorways' with this side by side stroller since it's only 29 inches wide and I have to agree. Granted, I saw the stroller on a decidedly doorless sidewalk but it was narrow for a twin side by side stroller.

This stroller has plenty of other great features. It can be used from infancy up through 45 lbs per child--a total of 90 lbs. So it's great for parents of twins or parents with two young kids. Just keep in mind that it only takes one car seat at a time so if you are a parent of twins and looking for a stroller that can take two car seats at once, then this won't work for you. But since it has a complete recline, it's still safe for twin newborns to ride. Infant headrests and shoulder pads keep babies snug.

In case you're wondering, this stroller accepts the following car seats: Graco's Snugride, Snugride 32, or Safeseat; Chicco's Keyfit or Keyfit 30; Peg Perego's Primo Viaggio SIP, and Maxi Cosi's Mico.

The seats can be adjusted totally independent of each other, a twin stroller feature I really like. Adjust the recline, the canopy, and the footrests to fit each child's size, age, and preference.

The 12" air-inflated tires feature a dual 360° swiveling front wheel with inline locking option. This makes it a great stroller for rougher terrain--great for parents who like to take the kids out on the trails. Plus, the handlebar is adjustable and there's a carrying strap for when the stroller is folded. And at 34 lbs it's light for a double stroller!

They Make Stroller Blankets, Too!

So, since I'm *giving away* some DwellStudio pillows, I thought I'd introduce you to another one of their fabulous products: their stroller blankets!

It's the combination of several things I love all at once: strollers (I know, that one was obvious), modern design, and blankets (one of my fears is that someone I love or I will be cold--at any time. I blame this on Maine, where I went to college. Those winters didn't toughen me up; they broke me).

In spring a footmuff can get a little hot and a stroller blanket is a great alternative. It will keep baby warm but not too warm. Plus these blankets are extra soft in 100% combed Egyptian cotton percale on the print side and velour on the reverse.

They're also machine washable--thank goodness! I mean, I like luxury but it's got to be practical too.

Stroller Alert: Peg Perego's New Si Stroller!

I'm excited to introduce you to Peg Perego's newest stroller: the Si. (And before you ask: No, I do not know what the name stands for. Maybe it's because you sigh with happiness when you see it?)

The best part about this stroller? It takes a car seat and is travel system compatible with the Primo Viaggio Car Seat! That means it's one of the few compact strollers that is car seat compatible. I'm excited about that because so many moms email me asking for lightweight strollers that can be used from birth and a car seat makes that possible.

Stroller Scoop: RumbleSeat Rumblings

All right, everyone! I did a little digging and a little snooping and I've returned with lots of juicy information on UppaBaby's new RumbleSeat. This is 100% fresh and accurate--I squeezed it right from the source.

(...I might have taken that metaphor a little too far. On to the stroller info!)

The RumbleSeat will be availbale in May 2009, retailing for $129.00. It's a great buy for parents of two because it converts a single stroller to a double in-line stroller in seconds. With a quick slide and snap, the RumbleSeat is installed onto the Vista Stroller frame.
The seat is low enough for toddlers to climb in and out, but high enough to keep little hands safe and away from the ground and wheels. In addition, it has a five-point harness and a canopy with SPF 50+ sun protection.

The seats’ fabric matches the Vista Stroller seat and the frame is constructed of lightweight aluminum providing strength, durability and a sleek modern look. Kids can also rest their feet on the seat’s two-position footpad--without compromising basket storage. When you're not using the RumbleSeat it can be stored under the stroller.

Stroller Scoop: UppaBaby's RumbleSeat

I'm intrigued and excited about the recent daddytypes.com post regarding the UppaBaby RumbleSeat. Droolicious also broke the news a couple weeks ago.

I have to admit, this is the first I've heard of it! Shocking, I know. I'm a little put out about it myself. Thankfully excitement is outweighing my bruised pride.

According to these blogs, the RumbleSeat ($129) would attach to the Vista Stroller to accomodate a second child! (So it would be more like a Phil and Teds inline stroller. Daddytypes compares it to the Vibe.

I'm going to do some stroller snooping to see if I can find out more about this exciting new UppaBaby accessory. I'll let you know what I find out!

New Maclarens for 2009 - Part II

Okay it's time to get back to Maclaren's 2009 strollers! I covered the Volo, Triumph, and Quest Sport already. Here's what I left out:

1. The Quest Mod Stroller: The first thing you'll probably notice about the 2009 Quest Mod Stroller is its fun new "Big Apple" pattern. I wish I had a close up image for you, but it's a modern, playful print that looks fantastic in every single color it comes in: Pink and Brown, Blue and Orange (my favorite!-Shown), Black and Green, and Green and Yellow. As expected based on the previous strollers, the hood is longer and larger for extra coverage, and is easier to take on and off.

2. The Techno XT Stroller: This stroller also has a new hood design: there are now air vents when it's fully open and it also has a larger viewing window. New elastisised pockets can hold the rain cover & mosquito net, which is so great when you're on the go. The stroller handles now have a nice, satin finish and the stroller also features a reflective hubcap design. Plus you can now choose from either a Charcoal Grey Stroller with Silver Frame or a Black Stroller with a sleak Black Frame (shown). Chic!

3. The Techno XLR Stroller: The most exciting update for this stroller is that it now has a one hand recline. The design has also gotten a little boost with a two tone harness and two new colors: Coffee Brown and Green, Charcoal Grey and Burnt Orange, and a very luxe looking Black and Champagne (Shown).

New Maclarens for 2009!

Get excited, everyone, because Maclaren has rolled out their 2009 strollers! That means new colors to drool over and some new features as well. I'll break it down for
you by model.

1. The Volo Stroller: Maclaren made a lot of improvements to the Volo this year. They added a foam handle for improved comfort. Now t buckle ring color coordinates with the seat fabric color for an even more stylish look. Plus they updated the curve of the hood. Also now choose silver frame to coordinate with silver components or the black frame to coordinate with black components. This year the colors are as bright and refreshing as popsicles in a rainbow of options the includes yellow (shown), orange, green, pink, and blue.

2. The Triumph Stroller: The Triumph has been given a larger hood that's easier to out on and take off. Foam handles increase comfort while pushing. The buckle ring color and woven contrast two-color harness add style. And best of all there's an argyle pattern in back! It comes in red, pink (shown), brown, gray, and blue.

3. The Quest Sport Stroller: The hood's gotten large
and easier to take on and off. The Quest Sport also has a hubcap design, which I assume refers to the cute stripe down the middle of the stroller that's inexplicably giving me Herbie flashbacks (Hey, who wouldn't want a stroller that reminds them of a Volkswagon??). The colors are stylish and sharp, ranging from grey and white (shown *love it*) to red and black.

Spider or Zapp??

I just got a great stroller question via Twitter: what stroller to choose--the Mutsy Spider or the Quinny Zapp?

My first thought was, "I want both of them!"

And then I thought about how both share a modern, minimal design and a super compact fold, which makes them great for parents on the go either in and out of the car or the airport. Both feature swiveling front wheels for easy cornering, too. Of course there are some qualities that set them apart. Let's look them over, shall we?

The Quinny Zapp:
The Zapp has one big advantage over the Spider: it can be used from birth. It doesn't have a full recline so you can only use it from birth with a car seat and the only car seat that's compatible with the Zapp is Maxi-Cosi's Infant Car Seat. In fact, the Zapp doesn't recline at all, which surprised me. It accomodates children from birth (with the car seat) up to 50 lbs. And it only weighs about 15 lbs, which is incredibly light and makes life on the go a lot more fun! It retails for $220 on Strollers.com.

The Mutsy Spider:
I love the Spider's 3 wheeled design. Thanks to it's adjustable footrest and wide seat, toddlers have room to grow while staying comfortable. At 19.8 lbs it's also very light--though not quite as lightweight as the Zapp. Another nice feature is that the wide back wheels keep it from tipping over. Adjustable handlebars ensure both parents can push comfortably. The Spider accomodates children from 3 months up to 55 lbs. So you can't use it from birth but it does hold more weight than the Zapp. It's also much less money at just $150 on Strollers.com.

Okay, this is not stroller related but I hope you can forgive me!

I recently discovered (okay, my much cooler twin sis recently introduced me to) the beautiful, classic yet modern prints and products at Binth.

In honor of Valentine's Day I felt I had to blog about the "I Love You" Maclaren Quest Stroller designed by Lulu Guiness.

Are You in the Mood for Some Stokke News?

Along Came the Spider...

Today I want to talk about Mutsy's Spider Stroller. It's been on my mind lately. Why? Well, because it has almost all of the characteristics that many of you have been asking me for in your stroller questions (keep them coming, by the way!).

I say "almost all" because it lacks one feature that many of you need: it doesn't accomodate infants. The seat does recline but not all the way down and it is not car seat compatible.

But for all the rest of you who don't need a stroller that can be used from birth, you should definitely take a look at this one! Consider this: it only weighs 19.8 lbs and has an extremely compact fold, which is easy to do. This makes it a great stroller for suburban parents who need a stroller that can fold, fit in the trunk, unfold and be ready to roll around town.

Wide set back wheels make this stroller sturdy and tip-proof, albeit slightly wider than some of its peers. The front wheel swivels to make cornering a breeze. Yes, apparently you can if your stroller is from BabyPlanet. Their strollers are 100% recyclable! If only every stroller could claim the same.

But despite this awesome quality, I don't think enough stroller patrollers are familiar with BabyPlanet strollers, so I wanted to introduce you to the Max Traveler Three Wheel Stroller.

Some Money Saving Stroller Tips

Everyone's feeling the pinch these days so I thought I'd give you stroller shoppers a couple of money-saving tips.

1. No, you don't need a stroller bassinet/carrycot for your newborn.

Rosie emailed me with this question and I thought it was a great one. Do you or don't you need a bassinet? The short answer is: No, you really. don't. As I told Rosie, a stroller can be used from birth as long as it fully reclines. This is usually listed in the stroller features either as "full recline" or "can be used from birth." They mean the same thing.

If you're worried that your newborn won't be fully supported, you can purchase extra padding to ensure that he or she is nice and snug. A car seat is also a perfectly acceptable option for a newborn because, again, it's snug and supportive as well as fully reclined.

Of course as my favorite high school teacher once told me, "Need and want are entirely different things." You may decide that you want a stroller bassinet badly enough to warrant the cost. Just remember, you're baby may not know the difference but your wallet most certainly will.

2. Consider a car seat stroller instead of a travel system.

A car seat stroller is essentially a stroller frame with no seat. You can attach your car seat into the stroller to create an infant stroller. I recommend Maclaren's Easy Traveler Car Seat Stroller (shown). The aluminum frame folds compactly just like an umbrella stroller and only weights 11 lbs. Another great feature is that the basket is generously sized compared to other car seat strollers. And Maclaren's Easy Traveler retails for a mere $69.95 on Strollers.com!!

Ask Mother Goose!

A couple days ago I got a great stroller question from a reader and I thought I'd share my answer with all of you in case any of you are in a similar situation.

Parent Profile: You're a parent with older children and another baby on the way so you're looking for a stroller that's lightweight and easy to lug around. It should have a one handed fold so that you can quickly get your stroller in and out of the car with no muss or fuss. You also want to make sure you're getting the most value for your money.

If this sounds like you, here are some stroller suggestions. The following strollers weigh 20 lbs or less, feature a lightweight and attractive aluminum frame, and cost $400 or less.

Peg Perego's Pliko P3 Stroller: The Pliko P3 costs $340. It can be used from birth and can accomodate children up to 45 lbs. It has a one handed fold as well as a footboard. The footboard is great for older siblings who are still young and may need a rest from walking. This stroller is fairly light at 17 lbs and I like the fact that you can purchase an additional front bar ($20) for when you don't want to use the snack tray that comes with the stroller.

One potential drawback is that it's only compatible with Peg Perego's Primo Viaggio car seat. The Primo Viaggio is a great car seat but some people prefer other brands like Graco (or already have a car seat from a previous child) and want the option of using other car seats with their stroller.

Maclaren's Techno XLR Stroller:If you're hoping to avoid having to buy another stroller ever again, then you might like the Techno XLR which you can purchase for $350. This stroller can be used from birth with or without a car seat just like the Pliko P3. What I really like is that it can accomodate children up to 65 lbs!

Maclaren is known for their easy-to-fold strollers plus this one weighs in at a mere 16.7 lbs. This is the second lightest stroller on my list and also the one with the highest weight capacity. It's also compatible with a wide variety of car seats including the Britax Companion, Graco Snug Ride-Safe Seat and Peg Perego Primo Viaggio car seats.

Micralite's Fastfold Stroller: If weight is the biggest factor for you then you'll love the Micralite Fastfold, which retails for $330. At 14.78 lbs it's the lightest stroller on my list and stands freely when folded. And, true to its name, it's incredibly fast to fold with one hand! (you can see a demo video here) This stroller accomodates children up to 40 lbs, which isn't as much as the XLR, but is still a decent weight limit. Another important thing to keep in mind with this stroller is that it's not appropriate from birth without a car seat. A car seat adapter is available ($40) and works with either the Graco Snugride or Safe Sit car seats.

Bumbleride's Indie Stroller: If you plan to do a lot of walking or jogging with your new baby then you'll like the Indie Stroller. The front wheel locks for jogging or power walking. It can accomodate children up to 45 lbs, which is more than the Fastfold but less than the XLR. It can be used from birth without a car seat and is compatible with a wide variety of car seats including Graco, Britax, and Maxi Cosi.

Keep in mind, the Indie isn't just a great stroller for jogging--it would also make a comfortable urban stroller thanks to its easy manueverability. However at $400 it is a little pricey depending on your budget and it weighs 20 lbs. And while it's easy to fold, it takes both hands. This stroller is only worth it if you do intend to use if for some jogging or intense walking.

Exploring the Xplory: The Answers!

As promised, here are your penetrating questions about Stokke's Xplory Stroller along with answers straight from Megan at Stokke.

Question 1: The Xplory doesn't look like any other stroller I've ever seen. What was the inspiration and reasoning behind the unusual design?
Answer: All Stokke products are designed with a purpose and that is, they are built in the best interest of the child. For the Xplory the goal was to bring babies closer to their parents, strengthening the bond between them. The higher seat also gives toddlers a panaramic view of the world, inviting them to visually interact with their surroundings.

Question 2: The handle doesn't look like anything I've seen on other strollers. Why is that?
Answer: Both the height and position are adjustable to fit the shape and size of any person pushing the stroller...from the tallest Dad to the youngest walking sibling.

Question 3: I have twins. Any chance Stokke will design a double stroller some day?
Answer: That's the first question I asked when I joined the company but unfortunately an Xplory twin stroller is not in the immediate plans.

Question 4: How much can the basket really hold?
Answer: It can hold 4-5 gallons or a full pack-sack diaper bag.

Question 5: Where's the brake?
Answer: On the Stokke Xplory, the brake is the white part on the inside of the rear right wheel. It can easily be turned on or off with your foot. Actually, all the movable parts on the Xplory are white so they're easy to find!

Question 6: Will Stokke ever have customizable color options?
Answer: I'm glad you asked because in March we're launching Xplory Moods, which includes a new textile color and two new patterned accessory kits. This will enable parents to customize their Xplory stroller to make it look unique.

Question 7: I'm pregnant and shopping for my first stroller. I'm willing to spend a little more if it means I'm getting a stroller that will last. I like the Xplory but it's so expensive, especially right now when money is tight! How can I be sure it's worth the money?

Congratulations, Toro Stroller!

I may not enjoy tooting my own horn (okay, okay of course I do...) but back in June I predicted that Micralite's Toro Stroller was on the verge of stroller stardome here in the States.

And guess what I found out today? Consumer Reports recently rated the Toro as the #1 luxury (re: over $300) stroller! That means it had the best overall rating despite stiff competition from Bugaboo's Bee and Frog strollers, Peg Perego's Pliko P3, and Stokke's Xplory.

And in case you're wondering, the results were as follows: Toro, Bee, Pliko P3, Xplory, and finally Frog.

The strollers are rated in 4 categories: Durability, Manueverability, Safety, and Ease of Use. My favorite is manueverability because apparently trained staffers test the strollers by taking them through S turns, cones and dirt trails among other obstacles and this sound like it could possibly be my dream job (call me!). The Toro was rated as Excellent in every category except for ease of use, for which it was given a Very Good.

Quest for the Golden Chassis Part II

I just wanted to update you on my search for the stroller I spotted at the mall which had--I believe, if my eyes weren't blurred by last minute holiday insanity--a gold chassis.

One helpful reader emailed me and suggested that perhaps it was a Mutsy stroller, which does come in some goldish colors at least in Europe. Man, it makes me jealous to think of all the stroller colors (or should I say "colours") that might be available across the pond.

Alas, I really think this stroller had a gold frame not just gold fabric. However, thanks for the suggestion! Anyway, I had fun skimming all the beautiful Mutsy colors...even the ones not available in the US.

End of the Year Randomness

I've returned to you after a haze of holiday madness including much driving through various New England states to visit relatives. There is something that's been on my mind since before Christmas: a stroller with a gold chassis. Yes, gold. I spotted it in the mall but before I could make my way over to the mother and ask her just what stroller it was, she disappeared. Don't ask me how a woman with a gold stroller managed to "disappear"...it was pre Christmas and there were crowds. I hate crowds.

So since then I've been combing the Web trying to find this particular stroller. I don't think I've found it yet but I did find two really interesting strollers with gold frames! One is a gold lame Mamas and Papas stroller Gwen Stefani used for Kingston back in 2007. The other is a limited edition Maclaren Stroller.

But the stroller I spotted had a bassinet! So, faithful readers, I'm begging you: if you know anything about this mysterious stroller please share it with the (*cough*stroller obsessed support*cough*) group!

In other news, during my internet quest for the elusive gold chassis, I stumbled upon a Swedish stroller company that designs gorgeous prams. It's called Emmaljunga but, tragically, it's not available in the US (...yet). Still, if you love prams, feast your eyes on their site. They've got possibly my favorite video intro ever.

Actually, their video is probably only second to Bugaboo's promo video for the Bee Stroller in my heart (because if choreographed dance numbers involving hot guys, strollers, and adults dressed as trees and lamp posts is wrong then I just don't want to be right). Inglesina's 2009 Zippy Stroller Gets a Color Update

Inglesina has unveiled their 2009 strollers and I really like the colors for the 2009 Zippy. I think they look fresh and stylish--much more eye-catching than the 2008 colors.

The 2009 colors are Biscotto (preppy tan and yellow), Papavero (crisp cream and red), Inkiostro (chic black), Cioccolato (boyish brown and blue), and Blu Notte (timeless Navy blue). You have to admit, the Italian names do add a certain something. Even without the Italian, I'm loving these colors. Biscotto (shown) is my favorite (you know I love yellow) but I also really like Papavero and Blu Notte. It's always good to have options, especially several that are gender neutral, which I like.

For those of you not familiar with the Zippy, it's a great stroller that can be used from infancy until your baby reaches 45 lbs. There's an optional bassinet and it works with either the Graco or Compass infant car seats. Plus, this stroller can be opened or closed with just one hand--and since you barely ever have both hands free that is an awesome feature.

New Study Suggests Stroller Direction Affects Baby

I wanted to make sure that all of you heard about BBC's recent article on stroller direction. More than 2,700 parent-infant pairs were observed across the UK as well as in a smaller study conducted in Dundee, Scotland. It was run by Dr Suzanne Zeedyk from Dundee University, in collaboration with the charity the National Literacy Trust.

The study found that babies facing towards the parent were more likely to laugh. They also tended to have lower heart rates, suggesting that they were more relaxed when their parent was in sight. Parents facing their children were more than twice as likely to be talking with their children than parents with forward facing strollers.

Dr. Zeedyk summarized her findings, saying, "Our data suggests that for many babies today, life in a buggy is emotionally impoverished and possibly stressful. Stressed babies grow into anxious adults." She is calling for a more in depth study to follow.

It makes sense to me that the more communication you have with your baby the better. What really surprised me was that 62% of all the children observed in the study were travelling in away-facing strollers. Which way do you prefer, and why? And should we really be concerned that stroller direction can hinder our childrens' development?

UppaBaby's Vista Stroller: New Colors for 2009

Uppa Baby has unveiled their new Vista 2009 Stroller colors! These aren't exactly earth-shattering changes but...let's just say those of you who voted that silver would be the stroller color of 2009 will be pleased and those of you who voted for purple will be...less than pleased.

For 2008, the Vista Stroller came in red, black, green, orange, and purple. It still comes in the same black, red, and green (with a slicker look thanks to some 2009 updates in the design!). Now, however, instead of orange and purple you can choose from bright blue or silver.

I'm a big fan of the silver. It's not too metallic and I think it looks very modern. You could have a lot of fun dressing it up with a cute stroller blanket--maybe something from DwellStudio (They're new blanket in Dragonfly Petal would be perfect for a girl!). The blue is also cute. It's light and bright--a great color for all seasons.

Personally, I wish they'd punched up the purple instead of discontinuing it. I'm a fan of purple these days. The green doesn't thrill me but I suppose it's nice and gender neutral. (You can tell, I'm sure, that I wish they'd nixed the green and kept the purple!)

I should also tell you that while the most obvious changes to the Vista Stroller are aesthetic, they have given it a much larger canopy for better sun protection and they increased the maximum weight from 40 to 50 pounds. Earth-lovers out there (hopefully all of you) will also appreciate that they've made Vista's bassinet organic! It's fully lined with a blend of cotton and soybean fiber: a hygienic alternative to synthetic fabrics that's good for the earth and your baby's sensitive skin. Bugaboo May Have Some Competition...

Well my stroller envy poll has come to a close and it looks like Bugaboo isn't the only stroller brand making everyone weak in the knees. Not suprisingly Bugaboo's Cameleon still came in first with 27% of the votes. The futuristic Orbit tied with Bugaboo for first place! So maybe the Orbit really is the next Bugaboo as Patty predicted.

I'm surprised the Quinny didn't get more that 17% of the votes. I work in downtown Boston and the sidewalks are usually swarming with Bugaboos but I counted at least three Quinny Buzzes just during my lunch break! These strollers are getting more popular by the day!

I can't help but agree with anyone who voted for the Silver Cross pram. I've only ever seen it in baby boutique windows--never actually in use by a real parent and a real baby. Maybe you're not actually allowed to put real babies in them except for celebrity photoshoots. I've been known to shamelessly stand on the sidewalk with my face pressed against the glass, drooling.

Stokke's Xplory came in last with only 6% of the votes! I admit, I'm surprised, though I suppose someone always has to come in last. Still, the Xplory is almost as space-agey as the Orbit and I love that it's height keeps baby close. What made you snub the Xplory? Inquiring moms (and dads for that matter) want to know!

Orbit Stroller Featured on "The Office"

The Orbit Stroller was featured in last week's episode of NBC's The Office! Jan brings her newborn into the office along with her super high tech, super expensive Orbit Stroller. Of course, Dwight is stunned by the price tag and decides to take it out for a test drive--with a watermelon, not the baby. You can see the clip here, as well as a deleted scene in which Dwight does everything to the stroller including running through his own makeshift obstacle course.

If you're not familiar with the Orbit, it's one of the most eye catching strollers on the market. Back in 2007, Patty at Celebrity Baby Blog summarized some of the Orbit's unconventional features (the seat rotates 360 degrees!) and speculated that it just might be the next Bugaboo.

Of course it's also very expensive--as Dwight aptly points out. But celebrity moms like Gwen Stefani, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Nicole Richie are snapping this stroller up. So is this stroller all hype or the future of strollers--the "next Bugaboo" so to speak?

Then again, speculating on what the "next Bugaboo" is going to be seems about as futile as trying to guess which book series will be the "next Harry Potter."

Footmuffs: For When The Weather Outside is Frightful

Maybe you're already getting snow where you live or you just know it's coming soon. In Boston it's been cold enough for me to wonder whether all the neighborhood kids will come trick-or-treating bundled up so that I can hardly tell what they are.

It's definitely time for big, warm coats and wool blankets...and stroller footmuffs!

Stroller Footmuffs are a wonderful invention. They keep your baby warm without restricting movement--minus the hassle of having to dredge that stroller blanket off of the slushy pavement every five minutes (yuck).

Footmuffs may be designed for use with particular strollers or for a variety of brands. Of course, if you're thinking of giving someone in your life a footmuff for the holidays (good idea!), you might want to stick with the kind that will work with many different strollers, unless you know what type of stroller they have. A Brooks Pond Perrenial Stroller Footmuff is one option I blogged about back in September.

If you're lucky enough to own a Stokke Xplory Stroller, then you can purchase one of my favorite stroller footmuffs. The Xplory Stroller Footmuff (shown) features a snug hood to keep baby extra warm and a split in the legs to give baby a little extra wiggle room. Plus, in typical Stokke style, the muff is fun and stylish with its modern, graphic pattern.

No matter what stroller you own or what style preference you have, I highly recommend getting a footmuff for your baby. Now if only they came in adult sizes...

The Bugaboo Gecko: Going Fast!

I thought I'd give you a little more information on the Bugaboo Gecko now that we've discovered 8 of these phased-out strollers in our warehouse! The Bugaboo Gecko has a minimalist design and is built to be functional, compact and tough. It's priced over $200 less than the Bugaboo Cameleon, and yet these two strollers share a lot of features.

The Gecko comes with: a chassis with wheels, seat/bassinet frame, bassinet fabric, seat fabric, sun canopy, underseat bag, mosquito net, rain cover, maintenance kit (incl. bottle silicone spray, pump, container of petroleum jelly, cloth for silicone spray, cloth for petroleum jelly), and an instructional DVD!

The seat is reversible as are the handlebars, one of its most popular features. It also has a hand brake on the handlebar, a 5-point harness, safety wrist strap, swivel-wheel suspension, lockable swivel wheels, and is machine washable.

Schwinn: A Smooth Ride For Serious Runners

Stroller Alert: New Quinny Buzz Colors!

Quinny has revealed the new colors for their Buzz Stroller! The new colors are nice but I have to admit I'm a little disappointed. The 2007 colors were bright and unexpected, and they featured interesting color combinations such as pink and orange. The 2008 colors are a little tamer. There's Gold, Strawberry (more red than pink), Apple (more like Sage Green in my opinion), and Black. Instead of featuring a unique color on the outside of the stroller, the 2008 models are simply dark gray (for the Gold, Apple, and Black) or black (for the Strawberry). See the new colors for yourself here.

I suppose grey and black go with everything, but, well...it makes me think of Bugaboo. And while Quinny has a unique design all its own, I also loved how brave they were with their 2007 colors. In my opinion, which I shared back in April on this blog, the design plus the colors really set them apart in the high end stroller market. Then again, maybe moms and dads don't want crazy color combinations.

The 2008 Quinny strollers will be available at Strollers.com in just a couple of weeks. I've posted a photo of the 2008 Quinny in Gold because it's my favorite of the new colors (I'm a sucker for yellow).

Stroller Liners Keep Baby Warm and Cozy

Well, according to the calendar and the temperature, it's officially Fall and that means crisp, windy strolls with your baby. A Stroller Liner is a great way to keep baby snuggly no matter how chilly the day or evening.

Stroller Liners line the stroller seat to add extra warmth and cushioning. They don't offer as much coverage as a footmuff so they're perfect for Fall and Spring when a footmuff might be too heavy. They're also great for warmer climates where an entire footmuff just isn't necessary, even in Winter.

Another reason to consider a Stroller Liner is that it's great for squirmy babies that like to move around as much as possible. Your baby won't feel constrained as she might with a footmuff and she won't be able to kick it off like she would with a Stroller Blanket.

Finally, stroller liners tend to come with a much lower price tag than footmuffs, which one can't help but appreciate at the moment.

I like B.O.B.'s White Warm Stroller Fuzzy. It's easily inserted into any stroller's seat (single or double stroller) thanks to Velcro at the openings and it's made of thick fleece and padded quilting. The design covers the entire stroller seat like a blanket but without the hassle.

Bumbleride Strollers: Sporty and Stylish

Last week I gave you some gossip concerning Bumbleride and their possible plans for an umbrella stroller. So this seemed like a good time to tell you a little more about this company and their strollers.

Bumbleride strollers are simple and sporty yet they have a look that's all their own. I think their unique color combinations and prints really make them stand out from the crowd. Also, I really like the look of their canopies. Similar to the Bugaboo Bee, the canopy on these strollers is an important aspect of the design.

Let's talk about the Indie Stroller. It's their "off roading" stroller, great for pushing across a soccer field, a gravel parking lot, or just your neighborhood sidewalk. Weighing in at only 20 lbs, it's also very comfortable to push. The anodized aluminum frame and air-filled tires are what keep it so light.

Good morning, faithful readers. I've got something to brighten your morning: my coworkers just returned from the ABC Kids Expo in Las Vegas and they've been kind enough to share some stroller gossip with me, which I in turn am going to share with you!

Let's kick things off with some seriously juicy gossip. Back in August I told you about Peg Perego's awesome new Skate Stroller. Well, rumor has it that Peg Perego is designing a new version of the Skate that would be more light weight. This is one of my favorite new strollers, so I'll definitely keep you informed if I hear anything else about the forthcoming light weight Skate!

In other Peg Perego news, they're coming out with a new stroller called the Pliko Switch Completo. It has all the features of their popular Pliko P3 Stroller plus a new, comfortable seat; extra large, adjustable hood; rain canopy and footmuff. And that's not even the half of it. Learn more about the Pliko Switch Completo and get a good look at it on Peg Perego's Web site. This stroller will be rolling into the States in 2009. For all you Bugaboo fans, there's some very cool style headed your way. Bugaboo has teamed up with Paul Frank for two very fun and modern collections designed for the Cameleon Stroller. This news is so new you can't even find it on Bugaboo's Web site yet! One collection features a color block pattern complete with Paul Frank characters while the other comes in army green and features Paul Frank's Skurvy pattern. I wish I could show you images, but for now my descriptions will have to suffice. I'll post more information as soon as I get it.

I'm also excited to let you know that Bumbleride might be working on their own umbrella stroller. I've always loved Bumbleride's cute patterns and unique color combinations, so I hope this rumor is true. I'm sure they'd design an umbrella stroller that's stylish and affordable but we'll just have to wait and see.

And my last tidbit of gossip is that BabyPlanet may expand their Endangered Species Collection to include a double stroller and bassinet. BabyPlanet partnered with the Wildlife Conservation Society for the Endangered Species Collection and I'm really excited to hear that it might be expanding soon. BabyPlanet makes a yearly cash contribution to the Wildlife Conservation Society and donates $5 from each Endangered Species Stroller they sell! And you don't even have to sacrifice style for this great cause. Each stroller has a sleek, sporty look and features accents from an endangered species such as Snow Leopard and Lemur. Again, I'll post images and more information as soon as it comes my way.

New Maclaren Design: The Spitfire Ryder Stroller

In honor of the 70th Anniversary of the British Spitfire fighter aircraft, Maclaren has released a special Spitfire Ryder Stroller.

This stroller is part of Maclaren's Objects of Design Collection, which has featured strollers designed by Lulu Guiness, and Kate Spade.

I love that the design of the Spitfire Stroller is reminiscent of its namesake while remaining tasteful and modern at the same time. It comes in "Spitfire Green" and cream and there's even a bullseye on the hood just like the ones once seen on the side of these iconic aircrafts. The liner is reversible with one side a simple green and the other a playful camoflage. This stroller really looks unique and would definitely garner a lot of attention on the sidewalk.

Seeing as this is a Maclaren stroller, there are plenty of practical features as well. The Spitfire Ryder Stroller can be used from birth up to 55 lbs. New Stroller Alert: The Skate

Peg Perego has unveiled it's new stroller: The Skate! I love the unique, modern look of this stroller. It's definitely going to turn some heads in the neighborhood but there's so much more to this stroller than just a pretty face.

The Skate comes with a bassinet and stroller seat, and both can be configured facing you or the world. The bassinet is free standing when removed from the stroller and features a convenient carry handle so that you can detach the bassinet and bring your sleeping baby right into the house after a long stroll. The Skate also comes with a full-fitted boot and a full-zippered rain cover, both of which can be used with the bassinet or stroller seat. The large, adjustable zippered hood also works with both the bassinet and stroller seat. With all of these options you'll be ready for anything whether it's rain, snow, or sunshine.

The strong aluminum frame is sturdy and sleek. Plus, you can set the seat to three different height positions, much in the same way that you can adjust the Stokke Xplory! This is a really nice feature--definitely my favorite. The ergonomic handle adjusts to several positions and heights so you can customize it just for you. And yes, it does come with a large cup holder.

The Skate's steel ball bearing wheel design ensures easy rolling and smooth, responsive steering. Combine that with the shock-absorbing springs and you've got one seriously smooth ride. The front wheels swivel and lock and the rear wheels have air-filled inner tubes (air pump also included). Somehow this stroller manages to be very compact when it's folded, too.

Something to keep in mind is that the Skate only works with Peg Perego's Primo Viaggio Car Seat. If you love the Primo Viaggio, like I do, then you won't see this as a drawback, but if you have another car seat preference then this clearly won't be ideal. The upside is that two car seat adapters are included with the stroller. I think it's really classy that Peg Perego included all the essentials with this stroller. Plus, it takes the guesswork out of stroller shopping--everything you need is right in the box!

UPPAbaby is Moving Up in the Stroller World

Several months ago a rep from UPPAbaby came in to show us the Vista Stroller. I'll admit, when I first saw it I thought, "It's a Bugaboo copy." But by the end of the presentation and after playing with the Vista myself, I realized how wrong I was. I also found a new place in my heart for UPPAbaby, right next to Bugaboo.(Apparently there's always room for a new stroller in my heart.)

Uppa Baby describes the Vista Stroller as, "50% sports car, 50% super-utility vehicle and 100% performance." That's a pretty accurate summary. This stroller is all about comfort and performance--even if it takes up a lot of space on the road. It's like that sleek black SUV that you see around town. Just be grateful it doesn't run on gas.

At just over 24 lbs it's not exactly lightweight. For reference, the Bugaboo Cameleon weighs 20 lbs. But this is one smooth ride. Having pushed it myself, I can tell you that as long as you don't have to lug it up and down a flight of stairs on a regular basis, you won't notice the weight. Its fully welded and formed frame reduces the use of plastic so you get more responsive control. With the slightest touch you can manuever this stroller anywhere. And you can go anywhere you want thanks to its category-leading rear wheel width and contact area, which allows you to conquer sand, dirt and snow with ease. And thanks to the rubber-like TPR tires stretched over EVA foam, you don't have to worry about getting a flat.

The stroller, includes a chic bassinet and stroller seat. The bassinet accomodates children up to 20 lbs and has a really snuggly soft lining. It also features a four-season reversible mattress pad, water resistant mattress, removable and washable mattress liner, and bassinet cover.

The seat accomodates children up to 50 lbs and includes a mesh sun and bug cover and a canopy. You can switch between the two easily, with no fabric swapping required. Seat attachment indicators change color to let you know when you've done it correctly. It's surprisingly easy--I got it on the first try, which is no small feat for me!
